about

"
Takashi laid on his side beneath his desk; shirtless, motionless, his knees tucked into his chest. The whir of his desktop tower was the only sound on the 37th floor. Dim light fell in tight rails across the grey carpeted floor and stretched to the door that his name etched into it.

The glass cage he lived in was slowly melting into his skin. His bones were cracking, his hair was falling out, the veins in his arms had become tight coils of wire. Knuckles with cracked skin clasped together to form a ball of fists in front of his face. Were his eyes open? Were they closed? Did they even reflect to him the truth of his surroundings? With no sound except the gentle hum of his computer, Takashi had no sense of space, no sense of separation, no sense of self.

The moon outside was stationary. It provided no record of time. It neither rose nor set. It didn’t wax or wane. The luminescent orb stared at Takashi without knowing him or understanding him, only observing his every move with indifference. Never blinking, never breaking its gaze from Takashi’s lifeless, misshapen form that laid sideways beneath his desk.
